Our President & Founder, Tom Gelehrter, made the decision to start his business late in the evening on January 29, 2015. It was an exciting time for Gelehrter, his family and those that were closest to him. 4th Floor officially launched weeks later on April 16 with one office suite, a small amount of camera equipment and three human beings. In our time since inception, 4th Floor Creative has grown to double digit members, established partnerships nationwide with some of those most iconic brands, bought a few more cameras and tripled its workspace. You could say we’re proud of where we came from and ecstatic for what the future holds!
What’s in a name?
Our company name pays homage to the Richard Lindner Center on the campus of the University of Cincinnati. Many of our team members have called the Lindner Center home at one point or another in their careers. Three of the eight floors in the building are underground, and thus the fourth floor is the main floor. Gelehrter spent seven of his nine years at UC working on that main floor and from his experience, 4th Floor Creative was born.
What are we all about?
Simply put, we are storytellers. More technically speaking, we produce and create cinematic Emmy Award-winning content. Together with our partners, we help develop unique concepts, build production sets in house, and bring their brand vision to life through the entire production process.
Our process is – and always has been – to understand what’s important to each of our partners and tell their story in captivating fashion elevating their brand every step of the way. By doing what we do best, our partners can be extremely proud of who they are and what they represent.
