MEET THE TEAM
Tom founded 4th Floor Creative in April 2015 after nine years working in collegiate athletics at the University of Cincinnati. A broadcaster by trade, Gelehrter also serves as the “Voice of FC Cincinnati,” handling play-by-play duties since the club’s first match broadcast in 2016. During his time with the Bearcats, he served as the Senior Director of New Media and Broadcasting, building the department’s multimedia sector from scratch upon his arrival in 2006. In addition to his broadcast duties with FC Cincinnati and responsibilities with 4th Floor, Gelehrter has called college football and basketball for Fox Sports Ohio and ESPN. An avid sports fan and Cleveland, Ohio native, Gelehrter currently resides in Pleasant Ridge with his wife, Marissa, and two sons, Sawyer and Sullivan.
Brett grew up in West Chester, Ohio. His photography career began when he joined the school paper as a freshman at the University of Cincinnati. By his junior year, he was the contract photographer for the athletic departments at both U.C. and Miami University (Ohio). In 1998, Brett began freelancing for Sports Illustrated and over the last 20 years has traveled the world as both a lighting tech and photographer. Brett met Tom Gelehrter in 2008 while working at UC. Seven years later, Gelehrter pitched the idea of 4th Floor Creative to Brett and he loved it, joining as a partner. Brett lives in Liberty Township with his wife, Jessica, their three kids and two dogs. Brett’s hobby has jokingly become collecting hobbies. As someone always wanting to learn about and try new things – there are several that he loves – but anything that gets him in the great outdoors would be his favorites.
Marc started at 4th Floor Creative in January 2016. As senior director, he oversees and manages all aspects of production. Marc became close with founder, Tom Gelehrter, as a student intern for Bearcats TV from 2012-2014. Upon graduating from University of Cincinnati in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Media, Marc worked in video production in Los Angeles for National Picture Show before moving on to become Head of Video Production at Tennessee Tech University. He produced content for all athletic programs at Tech for almost two years until joining 4th Floor. Marc is a multi-Emmy award winning director and loves all aspects of storytelling. If our content made you laugh, smile, or cry, he believes we have done our job. Marc was born and raised in Akron, Ohio, and currently resides in Cincinnati with his wife, Olivia. In his free time, Marc likes to travel, play sports, and occasionally drop a couple of rap verses here and there.
Brennen was hired at 4th Floor Creative in March 2018. He mainly focuses on cinematography and post-production, but he's involved in just about every part of the creative process. Brennen graduated from the University of Virginia in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics, but he wasn’t a big fan of the typical cubicle job. He made highlight videos for Bengals players for fun and eventually got so good at it that the Bengals hired him in 2015. He worked there for three seasons before departing to 4th Floor. Brennen was born and raised in Cincinnati in the Mariemont/Terrace Park area. He has resided in Oakley for the past 5 years. He enjoys exploring isolated parts of Cincinnati, taking photographs, practicing yoga, and eating pretzels!
Connor arrived at 4th Floor Creative in May 2018 as an intern before transitioning into a full-time role as a Content Producer. In his current position, Connor is involved in all aspects of production, ranging from conceptualization, filming, and editing, with a specialization in audio engineering. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Media and minors in Sports Administration and Political Science. During his four-year college career, he worked seasonally as an audio/video board operator for game day production with the Toledo Mud Hens and Toledo Walleye. Connor was born and raised in Perrysburg, Ohio, and currently resides in the Mount Lookout neighborhood of Cincinnati. A lover of all things film, music, history, and politics, Connor is often heard discussing local Cincinnati history and politics around the office.
Krista arrived at 4th Floor Creative in March 2021 as a Content Creator. She graduated from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Media, and minors in Communications and Public Relations. During her five-year college career, Krista also played softball and attended the 2013 DII World Series where her team placed 2nd in the country. After college, she moved to Chicago, IL hoping to get her foot in the door as a sideline reporter. Unfortunately, it did not work out and Krista moved back to the Philadelphia area to begin a Video Production Internship with Villanova University Athletics. She then earned an opportunity as a Production Assistant with the Cincinnati Bengals before getting the call from 4th Floor. Turns out, her love is actually behind the camera shooting and editing. This bubbly sports enthusiast, beach lover, cat mom of two (Nala and Frey Frey) spends her free time at the gym or with friends exploring restaurants and local breweries.
Kirk joined the 4th Floor Creative Staff in November of 2021. As producer, he is tasked with coordinating, developing, and managing all aspects of production from ideation to delivery. After graduating from the University of Kentucky in 2015 with a degree in Media Arts & Studies, Kirk moved to Milwaukee and worked at the local FOX affiliate as a photojournalist. When his alma mater came calling, he found himself back in the bluegrass state, where for five years he produced content for the University of Kentucky Athletic Department. On Sundays in the fall, Kirk can be seen on the sidelines in Cincinnati and beyond shooting for NFL Films, the production company of the National Football League. An Emmy award winning producer, Kirk's passion lies in storytelling: “Tell me the facts and I’ll learn. Tell me the truth and I’ll believe. But tell me a story and it will live in my heart forever.” - Ed Sabol. Born and raised in Sleepy Hollow, Illinois, he currently resides in Northern Kentucky with his wife, Amanda, their daughter, Audrey, and dog Luna.
